About the Districts

Community Updates

We are pleased to share an important update regarding our community-wide efforts to reduce wild hog activity within Treviso Bay. Your comfort, safety, and the protection of our beautiful natural areas remain top priorities, and we have taken meaningful steps to strengthen our approach.

Treviso Bay has offically partnered with both the Community Development District (CDD) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to address this matter with the highest level of expertise. Beginning January 1, 2026, USDA will serve as the sole authorized entity to manage hog mitigation within Treviso Bay's preserve areas.  USDA brings proven methods, specialized resources, and experienced personnel that have been effective in communities similar to ours.

A key component of this initiative is the implementation of strategies designed to make the preserve areas a more attractive and sustainable habitat for wildlife, thereby discouraging hog activity within residential and common use areas of treviso Bay.  This approach supports long term mitigation while preserving the natural balance of our environment.

Starting Janaury 1, 2026:

  • USDA will lead all wild hog mitigation efforts within the preserve areas.
  • Nuisanace Wildlife Removal will continue providing their regular services for the community and the homeowners who hire them individually.
  • However, Nuisance Wildlife Removal will no longer participate in hog mitigation activities within the preserve areas, as this responsibility will transition entirely to USDA.

While wildlife mitigation is a complex process and results are not immediate, USDA's methods are well established and focused on delivering positive outcomes as efficiently and responsibly as possible. This coordinated partnership between Treviso Bay, the CDD, and USDA positions our community for a thoughtful, effective, and sustainable solution to this ongoing challenge.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to enhance the safety, appearance, and overall quality of life within Treviso Bay.

November 2025 Update - Ongoing Field Activities

The Fiscal Year 2026 landscape enhancement project for the west side of U.S. 41 is scheduled to begin mid-November. This project includes removal of the existing plantings and installation of new materials to mirror the design on the east side of 41. Additional sod will be placed, and irrigation will be adjusted as needed.

District staff are also working with an electrical vendor to install new landscape lighting in select areas along 41 to complement the new plantings.

The asphalt roadway between the pavers and the guardhouse has been seal coated and restriped. Paver sections were also restriped, and new raised pavement markers (RPMs) were installed from 41 just over the bridge.

New pine straw mulch installation is scheduled for the second week of November.

Holiday lighting and garland will be installed during that same period, with the official lighting planned for November 21.

The District corrected and restored an area at the Avelino lake bank that had been previously repaired incorrectly. The work included adding a bubble-up drainage structure tied into the existing downspout pipe to eliminate the unsightly repair.

Surface algae was treated in Lake 42. Submerged algae (Chara) was treated in Lakes 5, 10, 11, 12, 16, 21, 22A, 23, 25, 31, 34, and 42.

The District is coordinating with the fountain vendor to install a new fountain in Lake 22 within the Aqua subdivision. Additionally, a purchase order has been approved to repair the fountain in Lake 26, with completion anticipated by mid-November.

Cane toad and tadpole activity remained steady through October, with the most active zones being Lakes 8, 12 and 20 - with additional clusters noted in Lakes 27 and 31. Although activity remains steady, overall levels have begun to taper slightly compared to the seasonal peak.
